Still Life

It can take weeks to gather the objects to form a satisfying still life.
The theme may be a colour, a phrase, an event or place.
It is fun to search out contrasting colours and textures.
Finally, when the group is carefully managed, the chance reflections in a teapot, distortions through water and glass and the movement of tulips for example, become very important.
Occasionally, a group of objects is interesting in itself, but the composition lacks an necessary item in order to bring the whole picture to life.
My still life tells a story and is autobiographical.
